Fairy Bower 12th July 2008

Dive No. 315. 10.40 am, 18 degrees, 72 mins, 7 max, 4.9 av
DM Peter, Liz, Patrick, Rostrum, Michael and a few others; very good vis on the western side with schools of different fish, especially yellowtail but also silver drummer, mullet, blackfish and surgeonfish plus lots of hulas and Sgt Bakers, parmas, morwongs, kelpfish, etc. Two giant cuttlefish and two to three Port Jackson sharks. Relaxing dive and not too cold on a beautiful winter’s day.

Bass Point Coal Loader, Shellharbour 6th July 2008

Dive No. 314. 2.50 pm, 17 degrees, 69 mins, 10.4 max, 6.1 av
Big improvement on the first dive with plenty of fish, mainly yellowtail with small kingfish darting through, lots of old wifes, mados, porcupine fish and quite a few giant cuttlefish perhaps mating or maybe males fighting.

Bushranger Bay, Shellharbour 6th July 2008

Dive No. 313. 12.05 am, 17 degrees, 45 mins, 18.6 max, 11.9 av
DM Kevin Deacon, Keith, Lilly, Rostrum (buddy), Scott and Sharon plus a few others. Beautiful sheltered bay with rocky beach looked very tantalising but there was very little to see, either fish or other critters. Plenty of kelp and then some nice cliffs on the right side going out but very few fish: old wifes, red morwongs, hulas, etc.

Shelly Beach/Fairy Bower 5th July 2008

Dive No. 312. 10.56 am, 18 degrees, 60 mins, 8.8 max, 4.9 av
DM Dave Young, Liz and me as buddies and various other new divers. We started at Shelly and headed west. Standard FB/Shelly dive - the highlight was a pair of Port Jackson sharks, maybe there was some courting going on; the others only saw one.
